[ It's only slightlyunsettling to wake up with an unfamiliar lady calling you 'dear,' finding a little girl calling him 'daddy' next was the real kicker. As if Ron could ever spawn a child that looked like that. Actually, come to think of it, why was he even at that house and waking up in that bed anyways? Wasn't he last thrown into a dungeon of

R-Ron?

[ He is so relieved to hear her voice, even if it starts off as a scold because it's so much better than screaming in pain, which reminds him- ]
THEY'RE NOT HURTING YOU, RIGHT? I'LL SAVE YOU!

[She keeps her voice firm.]
Ronald. [There's a slight pause. It feels nice saying his name again, but the fact he thinks people are still hurting her... He can't be any further than her, can he?] I'm fine.
[The words were simple but she wasn't getting into everything when he was still screaming at her.] --Try speaking to me in your normal volume, Ron. You don't need to shout into telephones.

Where are you? I'm in some weird house and-- [ maybe it was best not to mention waking up with some weird lady who insists they were married. At least not right away, it was probably part of some evil plot to keep them all separated. ] and, I don't know.
[ He whispers the next part.] Hermione, I think they somehow turned me into a Squib!

[At the last bit, she frowns.] At the current moment, in all intent and purpose, you are.

I think I'm on 1652 Albright Lane, in... hey! It says I'm in the United States! That can't be right.
Reply
It should be impossible, yes, but as far as everything's concerned it's where they say we are at.
[ A breath.] If you give me fifteen minutes I can be there. Albright Lane is just on the other side of the town from where I'm at. I'd bring Harry... But I don't think he's anywhere in the house and I'm not sure if I can find him. [At least there's knowledge Harry's here, too.] Do you mind if I bring Crookshanks along?
[BECAUSE CAT. Does not like the drones and has been all protective since arriving Thursday night.]

Are you sure you don't want me to go to you instead? I mean, is it safe? Merlin, did they take Harry now!? [ And he would have started asking more questions but, what is this about the cat? ] THEY TOOK CROOKSHANKS TOO!? There really is no limit to their evil.

I'm sure, Ron. Mayfield--this town, I mean-- is difficult to navigate when you first arrive. It'll be easier for both of us if I found you. [And she's just... sidestepping the safe question for now. Mostly because anyone knows safe in Mayfield is hardly a relative term. But she'll be logical about this and feed the facts.]
There's several people from home here, including your Mum. Unless I've missed a few there's eleven of us in all. Not counting Crookshanks, of course.

If we can move around and leave these houses, can't we just get out? It can't be that difficult, we can probably find a broom... [ Though being all squib-like at the moment Ron wasn't even sure if flying is even on the menu anymore. Maybe there were portkeys lying around, or they could just borrow a car and later a boat. ]

Hermione! What are they doing with her? Where is she, is she all right? [ All that's keeping him from running out the door now is the wire coil attached to the receiver, but even then it's probably stretched to its limits. ]

[Instead she barely holds in a snort.]
You can't leave, Ron. This place has something like muggle repelling charms, but in reverse. Walk to the edge of town and you'll only find yourself on the other side. And... even so, when you can find the way out it's apparently worse than Mayfield itself.

[The voice was a little sharper and louder, though not by much. Only trying to get him to stop panicking. Still, from the last phone call she wasn't exactly sure, but there was no reason to get Ron to panic.]
As far as I'm aware your mum's alright. I can take you to see her in a little while if you like.

You're not making any sense to me. What do you mean by, 'as far as you're aware'? Is she being held captive?
