[There's a shivering Jack in the Violet city Pokecenter, trying to warm up his hands. His hair is damp, as are his clothes, and he looks pretty irritated. A woman comes over (she looks suspiciously like the nurse in Cherrygrove, what gives?) and hands him a blanket and a warm cup of what looks to be hot chocolate. "You and your Pokemon will be fine

He's uncomfortably warm and he hogs the bed.

[Oh, how that will change.]

Jeez, you'd think the nurses'd get a clue and start keeping fire Pokemon around just for the sole purpose of warming people up...
[But then again, pfft, they're nurses. Nurses were dumb. Especially the ones in Violet City, which Heather unfortunately does not have a happy relationship with.]
I always thought those Magikarp were freaky, personally. Yours seems friendly, at least. [Hers had just... stared and mouthed silently. Which was incredibly unnerving when it was doing it all the way across the room at you while you were trying to sleep.]

[Jack doesn't feel anything towards them either way. The ones in Cherrygrove weren't all that helpful, though.]
They are freaky. T-This one chased me from one t-town to another and waited for me outside the P-Pokemon Center I was hiding in. I had just got here, I didn't know w-why a talking fish was f-following me!

It chased you?
[Heather is suddenly looking at the relatively-innocuous-looking fish with a new level of awe and respect.]
... That is... that is kind of horrifying.

[Heather has seen her fair share of WTF. You didn't come out of a place like Silent Hill without a pretty solid grounding in the care and keeping of purebred, pedigreed WTF. ... But that was a big load of brow-raisers.]
You fight vampires and fat dudes on rollerskates?
... Are you from the Simpsons Arcade Game?

[Derp.]
No? Hey, I was pretty damn c-confused too, you know. L-Last I heard, vampires didn't even e-exist, but this guy was running up t-the side of a building and over w-water like nobody's business! And the fat guy... he was j-just insane. I don't even know, I d-didn't take him t-too seriously.

[You'd think Heather would have learned by this point to stop making pop culture references given the sheer number of people here who wouldn't get them, but...]
That's, uh.
Yeah. Wow.
You've been thoroughly schooled in whatthefriggin'heck, haventcha?

...Unless I'm not sane, and t-this is all just a figment of my imagination. I don't even c-care anymore.

People supposedly get taken back home sometimes, but I've been here the whole time.
I have no idea what's going on back in my world.

...I have a pregnant girlfriend back home. I was gonna propose to her... never got the chance. I just have to hope I go back... or she comes here. At least here, it seems less...violent. I wouldn't want her to get hurt because of the people I know.
[It didn't seem like the Patriots had any hold over this place.]

Yikes. I-- uh. I'm sorry, man.
A lot of us have important shit going on at home... [Well Heather didn't but that was because she had graduated high school and become a total bum ololol.]
People do show up from our own worlds sometimes and they usually know each other, so... maybe she'll come here?
You can always hope...
