In which our heroine lives with hope and faith, and stops being such a doormat.

[sidenote: you may (or may not...) have noticed that I've changed the subject lines of my posts. I've decided to give the song-lyrics a rest, and have started essentially narrating the "chapters" of my life, as it were. So, there's that :P]

The whole bit with your sister is kind of beyond the pale of sibling rivalry. I'm kind of glad my sister and I have the kind of relationship we do (now). We're both very clever with words and extremely good at driving a knife in, if we want. Our fights, verbal and otherwise, when we were younger, were positively brutal.

But we outgrew it.

Doesn't sound like your sister has. Maybe drag her outside by the hair and beat the holy ever-living shit out of her?

The bizarre thing is that she thinks she's "right" to say such things. And so does her husband with some of the pointed things HE says. There was one comment over the weekend (not documented here, I forget what it was), and I said something back that was more of an observation than anything, and he said I was smart-mouthing back. Oh. So it's ok for him to do it, but not me(even when I wasn't)? Bah.

I really wish we got along better. When things are good, we can have a great time and I'd probably be down in PDX more often to visit them. But I just feel so awkward now, I don't do it at all.

Was he being serious when he said that? If so, he's a fucking douche.

Yeah, I think so. Although sometimes with him, it's hard to tell... but I think so.
