Take the chance and roll the dice, ride with the moon in the dead of night

It's time for another Good Thing/Bad Thing:

* Good: I have switched from The Pill to Nuvaring. Yay for not forgetting to take my birth control when shuttling back and forth to Shawn's!
* Bad: I just started this on Sunday night, so my body is... um, adjusting. I don't know if the headache I had for 10 hours yesterday was related (or just maybe it was work...?), but the cramps today are almost certainly related. I know that this shall pass, and it's no worse than some menstrual cramps, but YOWZA.

* Good: The aerial show is this weekend! I'm really, really hoping that the table decor turns out well (I'm sure it will, as only people with good taste have been involved), and that the show is a success for The Cabiri. The amount of work they put into every teeny detail of their shows is astounding, and results in great experiences for the guests. So I hope I live up to it!
* Bad: One of my mechanics is having the most difficult time possible (family life, impending divorce, snapped tendon in his shoulder), so Shawn and I are taking him out to lunch and to the aerial show to give him an afternoon away from it all. This tech loves aerial shows, so lunch at Elliott Bay and the show will be good for him, I hope.

* Good: My mom is doing better. Why was she doing poorly? See immediately below.
* Bad: My mom went in for a colonoscopy, and they removed a polyp that, given time, would have become cancerous. However, that procedure has resulted in gushing blood about 3 days later, another trip to the doctor, more blood a week later, and a third trip to the doctor. Since my paternal grandmother had colon cancer that was removed earlier this year, this does not bode well for my patoot in later years.

* Good: I got some pretty new jewelry, and I just ordered a couple of Partylite items for the winter season. Yay pretty shiny things!
* Bad: I've been spending a wee bit too much money on superfluous things. With the holidays coming up, a desperate need for new, better fitting clothes (I've dropped a size, and Shawn wants to know "what's with the baggy-jeans trend" that I've been sporting lately). I'd be going thrift-y for the clothes anyway, but I really need to get a little focus in my wallet.

* Good: I seem to be making small progresses again in the weight-loss journey. I've been on a plateau for like 3 months (plateau? nay, I say FULL STOP). Last week, I weighed myself before the Zumba class on Tuesday, then weighed myself again before my workout on Wednesday, and I had lost 2 lbs in a day! Yay!
* Bad: This process is taking WAY LONGER than I had expected, and I'm tired of fat-free cheese. I call shenanigans on fat-free!

* Good: Things with Shawn are going really good. I so enjoy spending the time with him, like on Sunday going to the zoo. We have a good time together, and we get each other's sense of humor (his example, when he called the other night: "Um, I'm in the King County jail. I got arrested tonight. Can you come bail me out?" My reaction: "WHAT. THE. HELL!?" Shawn, laughing: "AHAHAHA, did I make your heart stop?").
* Bad: Nothing, really :) I could do with less Call of Duty 4, personally, but like last night, he turned it off right away and we watched Dancing with the Stars instead, hehe. I don't know if he would qualify this as a good or a bad thing. :P But I heard about some of his crazy (literally, psychotic) exes, and I feel much better about myself. I think he's still waiting for me to break out with Teh Crazy, though.

* Good: I had the evening to myself, which I am using to gear up for a crazy week.
* Bad: This means I was lazy and totally didn't do any dishes. Oh well, tomorrow's only a day away!

Always remember to take the good with the bad, people! That's your lesson for the day.

the mechanic, good things, life or something like it, ashleyland, bad things
