BEDA 10: Mother Nature, you better get your act together.

Apr 10, 2009 22:04

I've recently started watching "Lie to Me" and I can't go so far as to say that I'm in love with it, but I really like it.

For those of you that don't know, it's a show about a firm based on being able to detect lies through vocal patterns, facial expressions, and body language. Basically, they get called in to figure something out and find a liar - they are human lie-detectors.

Sometimes, to make a point, they will show a facial expression on the person they are studying and then show famous people expressions of the same variety. These are some of my favorite parts of the show. It will usually happen for emotions such as guilt, anger, or any form of 'lying' (there are like a billion according to these people).

What's my point.

The episode that I watched tonight was pointing out an expression of guilt.
And then they showed Rod Blagojevich.
OMG I LOVE IT.

Ok...sorry, had to get that out of my system. I just really never liked that guy or anything that he did and liked that when everything finally came crashing down around him, my Illinois grown self could follow it from half the country away - where it made the front page in PROVIDENCE, therefore allowing me to actually hold conversation with multiple people in my theatre about something that means something to me.

Unlike when I mention basketball to people here. I don't understand how this area doesn't seem to care about BASKETBALL. I went to a bar during the NCAA tournament to catch a game and all of the big screen TVs were carrying an NBA game. NBA. During COLLEGE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT TIME. ...I just don't get it. The Big East schools are out here (obviously).  Duke, UCONN, Pen State, Boston College, Syracuse, Villinova...HOW CAN YOU NOT CARE?

...again, sorry. I come from Illini country. I like basketball. A lot.

Hmm...this blog wasn't supposed to be about either of these things. Oh well.

I'm heading to Boston tomorrow (hopefully in the morning - depending on if I have to go into the theatre first to help with notes before rehearsal) to hang out (and, weather permitting, do some touristy things that I haven't done yet) with a friend of mine from college that lives in the city now. Also for Easter! - which I will be spending with 3 other people from my college graduating class. Yay friends!

Here's hoping that this rain decides it doesn't want to hang around for very long. Or at least not be pouring tomorrow.

**slowly checks the surrounding area to make sure that no one is watching and then does a semi-elaborate rain dance**

Mother Nature...you better get your act together. I can only ask nicely so many times.
