1. Post 3 things you've done in your lifetime that you don't think anybody else on your friends list has done.
2. See if anybody else responds with "I've done that."
3. Have your friends cut & paste this into their journal to see what unique things they've done in their life.
Unsurprisingly, they're tied in to "places I've been" in addition to "things I've done." Due to my upbringing (my parents were big on travel), I conflate the two a lot, especially for good stuff.
1. Gone snow-skiing in July.
Mount Hood, in Oregon. While I didn't start the day in shorts, by the end of the day, I'd lost most of my padding. It wasn't hot, but it was certainly warm despite the glacier. For that matter, on July 1, it snowed on us in the Rockies.
2. Hiked to the bottom of
Bryce Canyon. And back up. :) Started this at like 9:30 am, to be as much out of the heat of the day as possible. It was September in Utah, it was hot, and we'd had frost the night before. This was on the second trip to Utah, the one I'd planned since the first trip with my family. I also hiked part of the
Narrows in Zion, which was (to be honest) the entire reason I planned the trip. When I was younger, I wanted to hike in the river, but we didn't have time. When I could go on my own, I was going to do that, damnit.
3. Went blackwater rafting. Okay, more than that. This caving adrenaline rush included abseiling down into the cave, a zipline through utter darkness, tubing through an underground river (with glowworms overhead), hiking farther through the river, and climbing straight up a waterfall back to the outside air. Incredibly awesome. The highlight of that trip for me, and one of the points around which I built the rest of the trip.
I think I really like this meme, not only for finding out stuff other people have done, but for the reminiscing. I needed something like combing my memories for neat, unique moments and activities.
