that's a good point.
interestingly, anne sexton committed suicide as well.
i always wonder how much of their notoriety stems from this.

plath and sexton are actually very similar. both were "confessional" poets, who detailed their struggles with mental illness and/or depression. I also see them both as feminists, although sexton pushed images of masturbation, adultery, abortion and menstruation more forcefully. i think she was in her 40's when she died.
