Mimi

I have this picture of my grandma and I on my dresser. I'm a little girl and she's holding me as we lay down in this hammock upnorth. I was looking at it last night before i went to bed, i got really sad. In my head i said, "ohhhh Mimi" That's what we called her. And all of sudden i really missed her and wanted to cry in her arms.

My grandma rocked at life. She lived during the depression and came from a big family. She couldn't finish her education because she had to work to help out the family. She worked as a maid. She met my grandpa at a funeral. Go figure! She was very popular with the men! She had lots of admirers and liked to dance alot! Later on in life, if it weren't for my grandma and her dancing, my grandpa would have had no friends!! They were both studs back in day though. She was so used to always doing something. She didn't like being idle. When she was having health problems, she hated resting! She was always trying to get up and do something and we would all have to tell her no. ohhh mimi! She once made a joke to me about guy once, that i should go for a guy with a nice red car! haha it was very random and cute.

When she started getting bad, she stayed at our house one weekend and everyone was gone so i was the one to take care of her that night. I had to help her change and get dressed and it took almost an hour. She was almost histarical at times. I remember welling up because the situation made me so sad.

Oh, another cute thing about her was that she always had dinner ready at the same time everyday and right before my grandma woulid come home, she would go freshen herself up and put on some lipstick! so she could look nice for her husband! She was a great wife, mother, and grandmother.
