Update on my friend
E is home, but still not doing better. It's not kidney failure. All the signs are pointing to something much worse. All the signs say that she's headed for a coma brought on by not having enough thyroid hormone in her system.
Why aren't the doctors doing anything about it? Well, apparently doctors aren't capable of saying "See, this is the average range that people need for thyroid hormone in their system. This person needs enough that normal for them is at the high end." No, instead they keep saying "Your results show that you have enough, the problem is something else." These idiot doctors reduced her dosage of thyroid hormone on her trying to get her body to have a reaction so they could find out how much she needed, and now are not paying attention to the signs that her body is showing.
E, for the record, has no thyroid. It was removed years ago. Prior to moving and getting these new doctors, she had one dosage that she'd used since the surgery and her health had been fine. In fact, that woman rarely caught so much as a sniffle! I'd be half dead with whatever flu was racing around the nation, and she'd be bustling about taking care of everyone who was sick. When they dropped her dosage, she started getting sick. She's had issues with her tonsils, really nasty allergies, stomach problems, headaches, and all sorts of other things. Right now the list of symptoms, were I to type them out with one symptom per line, is almost a full page long.
I'm really angry with the doctors and I'm really scared for her. If she can't find a doctor who is willing to see what her body is doing, to hear what it is saying, instead of saying "Well the tests show that you're fine." .... I don't want to think about that possibility.
So, anyone who has been praying out there, pray that she can get seen by a good doctor who will listen and look beyond the test results and see what she needs. Her condition is so bad right now that despite having lots of swelling throughout her body, they are afraid to give her a diuretic. They say the stress on her body would be too much.
This really needs to turn around, fast.
