It's February 3rd

Feb 03, 2022 22:23

It's always strange when I go out anywhere these days. It's so rare and it breaks me of my habits that it feels strange or like I'm cheating. It was my mom's birthday dinner. She hit a milestone. My parents are both in good health and I'm really happy about that.

I'm also happy to have the winter Olympics. I know politically they're not the best but I love seeing people who work so hard to accomplish something reach a goal. My empathy goes nuts watching these athletes. If something goes wrong, I feel awful alongside them. When they win and celebrate, I get emotional. Nothing gets me more emotional than watching figure skating. I sob just watching the routines. It's so strange. I used to watch the X Games a lot. I'm so happy when I catch snowboarding for the Olympics too.

Day 5:
Childish Gambino "3.15.20"
Favorite Track(s): "19.10", "53.49"

I listened to Gambino's last three albums and somehow this one passed me by. I'm not sure how. I figured now was a great time to rectify that oversight. I have a love/hate relationship with the last three albums and this one is no different. I really like Donald Glover and there are a ton of tracks I love and enjoy. There are also a bunch I don't care much for or would rather skip. Most of that is vocal choices. Thanks, misophonia.

One thing Childish Gambino is great at is taking a long track and making it feel like it passed in the blink of an eye, at least for me. A handful of the tracks on this CD are 5 or more minutes and they flew by. He doesn't leave you bored, that's for sure. There is always something happening in the foreground or the background. There was that brief Ariana Grande feature on one track. Everything is through out and I enjoyed this.
