Dollhouse will crash then burn

Ah apologises for not blogging soon - the catch up post will be later...

I am a Joss Whedon fan, I am a huge Joss Whedon fan and will continue to do so but...

The first episode of Dollhouse left me empty, seriously empty. This could have been any show on Fox, not a Whedon show at all.

I think I was expecting a typical Whedon first ep - throw me in deep, have me sitting on my chair asking questions and then throw me a bone which makes me beg for the next episode because that was seriously confusing but GREAT. And I think you'll throw me a bone and some meat next episode.

This time it was - here's the premise, watch how the next 10 episodes will go, and look we are done. Eh.

I did not care for any of the regulars, I felt deep empathy for kidnap girl and nothing for any other character. Joss, give me someone to feel through, give me someone to dislike, evoke some emotions already!

I get Joss has conflicting pressures, he's a seriously loved guy (who will still be loved after Dollhouse, I swear) but this time he's fallen to the network side of the line and I fear that even though he's taken a more network approach to the show it will be a failure. He won't pick up the numbers Fox will insanely demand and he won't keep the numbers he starts out with either.

I'll keep watching and hoping Joss has just lulled me into some false sense of mediocrity.
