Well I have news, in the manner of thanksgiving...
Vancouver is an amazing city, I really liked it. Alex's house is pretty close to downtown, kind of Enmore distance. We left on Friday afternoon and got to Vancouver at about 9ish. Staying at Alex's house was Me, Janeen, Michelle, Hunter and Alex (obviously). Raisa was staying with an uncle and Ruakiri, Swelen, Andrea and Simone (I cant be bothered typing countries any more) were staying at a hostel downtown. Stayed in and watched a movie that night. Some chinese movie that I missed a bit of and then it stopped making sense.
Saturday, we slept in and then went shopping. Being to poor to really buy anything, I splashed out on a $10 CD (you know what I'm like in record shops). We met up with all the others after lunch and that night hung out at the hostel for a few hours eating pizza and drinking vodka. Got kicked out by the scary guy that owned it at about 10:30 hung around outside for like an hour and a half, a little drunk.
Sunday morning, I woke up and went to church with Michelle and Alex's family for our Anthropology assignment. It was pretty interesting since I've never been to a catholic service before (or any other kind of service for that matter). Then went out to lunch at an amazing Chinese restaurant for lunch. Filled myself with chicken feet then went on a driving tour of Vancouver. Picked up Ruakiri and Swelen (Andrea and Simone went home) and went to a big park (which I've forgotten the name of) and looked at actual deciduous trees (they were red and yellow and nice) and grass and took stupid pictures for a few hours. We then went back to Alex's place and had thanksgiving dinner. Felt really bad because Alex's dad kept pointing out that the lamb was Australian and since I dont eat red meat I had to pretend I'd had some and it was really nice. Two of Alex's friends came also and we ate a hell of a lot, watched another movie and failed to get enough sleep. Monday we got back to school at about 6 and the whole taxi ride back, I had to talk to the weird cab driver while Alex and Swelen got to sleep in the back. Not fair at all. All in all though, an amazing weekend.
