Sky. This was perfect. You are a fluff-goddess. You write their domesticity so believably in canon, and as usual, their voices fit 100%. Sam calming down Gene and at the same time being so guilt-ridden... uhhnnnnnnn feels, so many feels. I went all out with the fluff on this one, didn't I. XD Yet still I want moooooore. Underneath the cuddles there's something really interesting to me about Gene leaning on someone who's pretty damn broken, while Gene relying on him is exactly the glue Sam needs to hold it together.

Somehow your Sam/Gene banter/bicker/tenderness always finds a way to surprise me with truth or genuineness that feels so THEM.

How to explain?

"Dangerously close to rambling, Sammy-boy." Somehow the shifts in conversation feel so natural. And I adored the flashback and how much it fleshed out that scene. I'm particularly in love with Gene grabbing a fistful of Sam's shirt - rowr!

I have a problem with the original LoM-script where Sam buggers off into the light, but this was an enjoyable read nevertheless! Love the fluffiness, and Gene not being able to sleep (as is perfectly understandable considering what almost happened to his team..), and as a C/R shipper I love Ray not caring about being shot and just wants to patch Chris up. :D

Awee Sky, I love this!I could only imagine how Sam's betrayal really affects Gene after the train situation. See, most fics that take place after 2.08 try to stay away from the whole "betrayal" nonsense, whether it's intentional or not. I think it's just because it would be so difficult to gauge Gene's feelings on the matter, and how he would react to them. You did a really great job with Gene here though. Very believable and so touching. <3
