Summary: I've wanted to do wing!Gene and struggled with a couple of designs, and then I decided to do a "how I do phone!art" demo out of it.
First I do a really sketchy sketch. You can see I tried several wing positions. I use a pencil tool and a dark color.
Next I throw in flat colors in a second layer, behind the sketch.
Next I start adding highlights and shading. I was hating Gene's face. I also keep going into the first sketch layer to change and erase and add things.
Then I added a glowy golden background in a third layer. The app has only three layers and I use em all.
And after going to town on the highlights and shading its as done as I'm going to make it! His face was a bugger!
