Hey,
Has anyone else been hating their LJ lately? Cause I have! When I log in, it lets me in, but then I go to my main page to update my journal and it has logged me out! WTF? It is SO beyond annoying! Actually, my computer in general has been pissing me off lately. My Media Player used to automatically give me a mini task bar when I minimized it, and now it won't do it anymore, and what it says to do doesn't work. Certain sites on the net that I log onto now, don't remember my user name and require me to type it in as well. As if I need anymore problems with this stupid computer! UGH! It's so frustrating after everything I went through in September with it.
So what else is new? Well my Victoria Day Weekend wasn't overly exciting. My lack of a social life in my hometown continues, as all I do is work or volunteer in the grade one class. Well I can't really complain about that. I love the kids. They make me smile. I've been working a lot too, and the public swims are ok. But I would rather only have 28 people at a swim then the 150 we had the other night. Also, what is it with people who refuse to listen to lifeguards? We are there for YOUR safety may I remind you. A fellow guard was at the mall the other day, and someone fell of a ladder. She offered her assistance, as she is also studying/training to be a paramedic and the someone had the nerve to tell her that lifeguards don't know first aid. I would be like EXCUSE ME? Do you want my help or not? May I remind you how much training I took to get this job? The sheer stupidity of people sometimes.
Another annoying thing. Had to create a password to log onto my computer because I've discovered my brother has been on when I am not home. I could have killed him. The amount of stuff I have on here that a) I don't want him accessing and b) don't want him messing around with. Up until the last few days, I had my computer working the way I like it and he's guaranteed to screw around with it. I wonder if the things pissing me off about it right now are due to him? Hmmm?
I got my icon from that personality thing that gives you icons. I like it. I have to show it to my friend who's cat is named Tink. She'll love it!
So I am obsessed with the song "You and Me" by Lifehouse right now. OMG it's so romantic and sweet! I can so imagine slow dancing to it! I also love "Old School Love" by Divine Brown. I love the beet, and harmony. I also re-discovered "Bulletproof" by Blue Rodeo that I love. Yeah, my brother has Limewire on the computer downstairs, so I am using it a lot. I downloaded "Who Are You" by The Who, which is the song CSI took its theme song from. Love it! And I got the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" theme song, cause I always thought that it was one of the best tv theme songs ever! And my friend sent me "The Blowers Daughter" by Damian Rice which is a sweet/sad song as well.
I am finally going to read "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks. I saw the movie when it was out in theatres and cried at the end along with every other woman in there. I want the dvd for my birthday. So time to compare how much they changed the book to fit the movie. My mom told me today that she had it. I had no idea. I am still waiting for the new Janet Evanovich book "Eleven on Top" which comes out on June 21st, and the new "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" on July 16th! I have my summer reading cut out for me. That and I need to find out what courses I am taking next year so I can start reading ahead for those.
Well, onto some familiar topics. The Nascar All-Star Challenge was on Saturday night, and Kasey was in it after winning the week before. Unfortunatley, due to a wreck he was out early and only achieved 16th place. Poor guy. But we all expect him to do better next week in Charlotte where he dominated last year before wrecking. Lets hope the luck is better this year. Go Kasey Go!
I know its a little late, but I did watch the season finales of CSI and ER. Due to the computer/LJ problems and work, I've been unable to post about them until now.
CSI was AMAZING! Guest directed by Quentin Taratino (spelling I know is wrong) it was brilliant! I have not seen any of his movies, but now he has me intrigued. I loved what he did with the 2 hour finale that acted more like a mini movie. It put me on an emotional roller coaster! Well, I did miss the first 20 minutes of it, due to the lack of note reading on my families part to check if the VCR in the basement was actually recording. I was at work till 8pm, and as I stood waiting for my ride I watched it on close captioning on the gym tv's. I got home and just was glued to the tv for the rest of the episode. It was so emotional! Warrick nearly crying, the whole Grissom/Nick scene at the end where he calls him Poncho, it had me close to tears! But I felt the ending was kinda tacked on with Nick visiting the daughter. I would have liked to see him recovering or something instead. I really hope the episode gets the show or George Eads an Emmy nod.
ER was great too. Had me in tears at the end when Carter was leaving and he heard Dr. Green's voice in his head. (Cause Dr. Green's death episode remains the most emotional for me. Best exit ever!) Ray is really developing as a character as well. And did I mention before how much I HATE Morris! Yet again, tragedy strikes and he's to out of it to even help! Thanks for killing Romano man! But the whole ending with Carter telling "Morris to set the tone" kinda pissed me off. Morris is NOT going to be the next Carter! OVER MY DEAD BODY! It should be Ray or maybe even Neela! The whole Carter giving Abby, Neela and Ray advice was cute though. Ironic that the show was called "The show must go on." It is going on without Carter, but really its going down hill and show bow out gracefully. It didn't even make the top ten ratings for that week. And it was kinda depressing with the show ending with Sam's kid Alex hitch hiking to find his dead beat dad. My mom pointed out that the whole Ray/Alex story lines almost overshadowed Carter leaving. I think the episode was still great, but I have to agree with her to a certain extent. You would think that after 11 years on the show they could at least make most of the episode about him?
Anyways, not much else to say for now. We have a class trip with the grade ones tomorrow, so I am looking forward to that. Not much else.
So I'll post again hopefully in the next few days if anything else happens.
Byes,
~Ren~
