A Phone Call to Matt
I had been talking to a guy in San Antonio. As some of you know, I am heavily toying with the idea of moving to either Portland or Austin, with Austin maybe having a slight lead. Anyways, I called Matt to close our flirting after I decided we are not good matches. As he will happily tell you himself, he has a God complex. He is very clear about how that plays into his desire for a mate--and I in very few ways fit his idea of partnership. I am too punk rock and opinionated to worship another human being. Frankly, the idea of it alone doesn't inspire me at all.
So I called and I created being responsible for my communication. As had happened with other conversations, it started spiraling into something resembling a quarrel...the result of two strong personalities interacting.
Anyways, I got really clear that I didn't need to prove I am right (which seemed to be how we had our verbal tiffs the other time)....and it ended easily and painlessly.
I feel much better and I am so happy to be in the Landmark Seminar about relationships. I really can't wait to grab hold of my love life and create new and awe inspiring relationships.
