I am giving up! I read somewhere GW read 87 books... hmmm I must keep a better list next year. I would like to think I read more than GW. Though I am currently half-way through at least 10 books!
currently reading
the birth house by ami mckay and the constant princess by phillipa gregory
Finished:
29. eclipse by stephenie Meyer (sept) I can't gush more about this series!
28. New Moon by stephenie Meyer addicting.. loved it (sept)
27. Twilight by stephenie meyer ADDICTING! Love story without all the sex, read the book in 2 days! (sept)
26 The ivy chronicles by karen quinn funny commentary on the ultra-rich neurotic parents of toddlers in NYC (august)
25 The continuity girl by leah mclaren canadian sex in the city w/ a weird love story... hmmm I don't know if I want my ob/gyn stalking me for a date (august/sept)
24 The Boleyn Inheritance by phillipa Gregory (august) I love the series great historical suspense and the screwed up going ons of royalty
23. The Chinese in America by Iris Chang... very well written (I am almost done but I know I will be too busy later this week) anyone who is interested in early american chinese history will love it. I have owned this book for a while and I have read a chapter here and there but I finally just got around to reading it cover to cover. It has an extensive note section suggesting so many rare books I want to read. Anyone who knows me will know that I have this huge interest in early the chinese-american immigrant experience. ...total sidenote the fact that vinh is chinese is a total coincidence... its like a guy who likes kilts and then marrying a scottish gal... (july)
22 + 23 (way over 700 pages) Harry potter and the deathly hallows... quick read that just sucked me in! (july)
21: The night my mother met Bruce Lee By Paisley rekdal Interesting view of growing up bi-racial. Eh it was ok. interesting but not memorable (I forgot I read it)
20: the biggest loser book love love bob harper and loved the inspirational "I lost it" stories..
19: nanny 911.. along the same lines as supernanny but supernanny is a prettier book
18: supernanny by jo frost (how to get the best from your children) really parent empowering book. Corinne will be the death of me. I have no idea how such a bossy little girl came from 2 laid back people?
17. 356 the preschoolers busy book for ages 3-6 by great book with crafts and games geared towards the preschool set
15 +16 the other boleyn girl by phillipa gregory (its 700 pages that should count as 2 books)
14.The elephant in the playroom by Denise Brody (5/12)
13 The Road by Cormac McCarthy (5/8)
12 Thin by lauren Greenfield
april:
11. my year of meats by ruth ozeki (again! My book club read it. I enjoyed it a lot. This time the book held a whole new meaning to me. I never even thought about the main character being half asian or a mom last time).
10. the namesake by jhumpa lahiri great book, best I have read in a long time. What a great story about an immigrant family through the generations
9. the beginner's running guide by runner's world I am trying to become a runner in spirit not practice apparently :0)
8. the mayo clinic nutrition handbook.. also a reread. I took a lot of nutrition and health courses in college so this book is not an eyeopener for me. Its a well written, informative guide to eating.
7. diaper free before 3 by Jill M. Lekovic interesting book b/c Corinne was so against going to the bathroom. Its been almost a month and only 1 accident. Some other information about independence and development which I thought was interesting. (april)
6. 1-2-3 magic by thomas phelan another reread. I used this when marcus was about 3. It worked wonders and I didn't have to use it anymore. Corinne since turning 3 has really left me at a loss for words when it comes to discipline! Between her whining, fighting with marcus, crying and pretty much carrying on like she runs the house I am so ready to trade her in for a puppy.
5. the myth of you and me by leah stewart (3/4)
4. In the Pond Ha Jin (2/22 love it)
3. veil of roses by laura fitzgerald (fast read 4/5)
2. the memory keeper's daughter by kim edwards (the character development was really lacking it was just ok 2/5)
1. Little children tom perotta (fast titillating read 3/5)
