Oh joy, oh rapture.
Dr. Andrew Fear
Student: Are they praising the temples?
Dr. Fear: They could do that - Blimey, those are a bally lot of temples. Lovely columns.
Dr. Fear: I don't care if there really weren't buckets of blood involved, the Latin is correct and that in itself suffices.
Student: Trust the Romans to discover steel by stabbing slaves.
Dr. Fear: They weren't the most tree-hugging of people.
Dr. Fear: When I was your age back in the 17th c.
Dr. Fear: That is correct Latin. Unless you're a blasted monk and you're thinking in English while trying to write in Latin making it all go horribly, tragically wrong.
Dr. Fear: Five minutes is quite a lot of time. You could die a horrible death by helping the Romans discover steel.
Dr. Fear: Think of Latin sentences like unguents as they are bitter and unpleasant but wholly necessary.
