Tara's room was completely packed up now, even if that kept making no sense to her. It felt like three years of her life should take up more space than the pile of boxes and suitcases actually did

Raven stepped inside, looking around at the boxes. "I have almost finished my packing as well," she said. "It is strange to have come here with almost nothing, and now to have so much to take with me."
"I know," Tara nodded. "I mean, I ... came with stuff, but it didn't feel like as much as I have now. I guess that's what happens when you stay in one place."
"And in Azarath we did not keep many personal belongings," Raven said. "That is one of many things I have learned since coming here, how to collect and cherish memories and friendships."
Raven had to take a moment. "I do," she said. "It was a place of great peace and beauty and so much knowledge. And some of the people were kind to me, despite their unease."
She shrugged a little. "But I could not go back, even if it still stood. I have changed far too much."
"I am all that is left now, aside from my mother, and I know not where she is," Raven said. "I will always hold Azarath in my memories, but its ways...." She shook her head. "Not as much. Perhaps some day people will live there again, though."
She tried to shake off those thoughts. "Will you be staying in dorms at your new school? I know it is required of freshmen at Gotham University. Will you have a roommate?"
"Yes and yes," Tara said quickly, grateful for the change of topic. "But she wasn't at my orientation, so I don't know anything except her name's Jane and she's from Sacramento. And she wanted to know if I had a TV."
"I have not met my roommate-to-be, either," Raven said, nodding. "I am hopeful that we will get along well. She is not from Gotham, either, so we will share that unfamiliarity with the city."
"I am more familiar with the Gotham of my mother's world, though that is not to say very much," Raven said. "That Gotham has its troubles with crime. Dinah's Gotham does as well, but from what I have seen thus far, not as much. The area around the campus seems pleasant enough. What of Sunnydale? Is it nice?"
Tara managed not to laugh. "It's ... interesting," she said diplomatically, wanting not to worry Raven. "It's where Kennedy was most of the time when she fell out of touch."
"I sorely dislike this time of year," she said with a sad smile.

She looked at Raven. "Do you miss Azarath at all? I mean, the way it was when you were little, not..."
Not what Tara had seen of it.

And had seemed a little disappointed Tara didn't.
