Room 223, Monday Around Noon

Aug 20, 2012 09:58

Tara's room was completely packed up now, even if that kept making no sense to her. It felt like three years of her life should take up more space than the pile of boxes and suitcases actually did.

She had some spare time before the trip to Sunnydale. She'd make a last trip into town before she went, but there was plenty of time to flip through the scrapbook she couldn't bring herself to put away just yet.

There were plenty of pictures of people she'd known in there, though she lingered over one of Fiona with Nyx and Moxy as kittens -- and took a minute to put it opposite one of the adult Moxy with Natalie. Her first pay stub from the Magic Box had gone in the book, too. A Magic Reserves flier. The ticket from the homecoming dance where she'd been princess. A take-out menu from Old Spaghetti factory. A program from last year's Christmas pageant.

A picture of her mom with Kennedy. (That one made her catch her breath, turn the page fast.)

It had been a horrible three years, in some ways. But it had also been deeply wonderful. And some part of her couldn't believe they were over, even as she yearned to move on.

[OOC: Last post for Tara! Open door/post. If you want her to have told you she was going today, she did.]
