I was wandering around Deviant Art one day, searching for Dresden art and this one guy had a cartoon drawing of Murphy. I thought it was awesome and snagged the picture for my favorites. Later when I decided I needed an OOC icon, I figured the comic art was good for it. There aren't a lot of Valerie Cruz pictures out there that are goofy looking to use otherwise.

I really like the color contrast in this icon. Everything is blue, black, and then you have this vibrant stream of red that just really stands out. Also, it's magic! Murphy's rarely in some scenes with magic and it's magic effecting her. Even better. I generally use it whenever Murphy's talking about the episode or being injured or scary magic stuff. Really, it's the contrast that I love so much.

There's not much to this one except I think she looks really, really pretty. That's Murphy, simple and straight forward, looking you right in the eye with just a small tilt to her eyebrow. And look how pretty she is! I like pretty things. It's her default icon, so obviously it's one of my favorites. I like it for her default because it is Murphy, simple as that. No fancy things going on, just her face. I like simple defaults best.

This is one of my favorite scenes from What About Bob? (1.10). You can tell Murphy's hurting and she sad, but there's a sense of grim acceptance about her. It's Murphy's stoic nature. What's even better is there's Harry in the background so it's a great icon for personal conflict situations. I'm also a fan of cropping icons so that half of people's faces are cut off. Don't ask me why, I don't really know.

The icon I jokingly refer to as the crotch shot. I like the cropping first and foremost. You can't see Murphy's face, all you see is her badge and a case file. It's work, what makes up pretty much all of Murphy's life these days. It's just an icon I use when Murphy's being a cop or doing something cop like because the badge is right there though not in the center of the icon. The badge isn't shoved in your face, but it's there and you shouldn't forget about it.

Happy Murphy! I really like the real joy in this image. There aren't many caps from Dresden of Murphy laughing or smiling like this. This is full blown happy Murphy. I also think she looks very pretty in it and as previously stated I really like pretty things.

I realized a while back that Murphy talked about her divorce a lot and she didn't have an icon for it. So, I made one. In this scene she's explaining how she's divorced and showing off her ring-less finger. I like that she's so casual about her divorce and that it really doesn't bother her to know. I usually use this when Murphy's discussing the divorce or her bad love life.

Murphy doing her job, basically. That's Harry in the left hand side there, and Murphy at the table during an interrogation. When Murphy's questioning someone or investigating in any way, I like to use this icon. It's also really stark looking, I just realized.

One of my favorite icons because it's one of my favorite scenes. Harry's in jail and Murphy's come to visit him. It's my trouble icon, for other people and when Murphy's being stern to other muses. It's a really good icon for when Murphy's lecturing about things to. Note, Harry's hands are folded like he's begging for help, makes me giggle.

I have to have at least one Harry/Murphy icon and this one I made after seeing another icon in the same style. I really like the progression of the images through the kiss. I also absolutely adore this scene. It makes me squee every time I see it and I've seen it a lot.
