Yes, I finally got my dachshund puppy. Simon Benen, nickname Bennie, is a black and tan short-haired miniature 3month old puppy who has wormed his way into my heart. He was a gift from my parents, primarily my mom. I travelled about 1 1/2 hours to Gaffney SC to pick him up from a breeder I found from
http://www.puppyfind.com Here's a pic of him escaping from his wicker bed in an attempt to join me in my bed.

Meanwhile I'm like a zombie throughout all this. Plus the first week I got him (around April 22) I got a nasty case of the flu followed the next week with pleurisy. YUCK! I just this week finally got rid of my cough and my breathing/chest no longer hurts. Throughout all this I've been the only one to take care of my baby because he is after all my responsibility. But, boy has it ever been tough. When I was at my worst I was extremely grateful to see my Mom come home and had her puppy-sit for several hours while I crawled up in bed. I heartily feel for all new parents!
My dad finally passed his test to drive again although he is limited to local driving only. He finished his last week of occupational and speech therapy this Tuesday and an appointment in two weeks to see if he can be cleared to be released to work. Frankly I don't think he will be. He still has so many short-term memory problems and some cognitive difficulties. I think his doctor might release him for supervised part-time office work but not any of the physical side of his job and certainly not full-time. Oh well, we will see.
For my own health, it has been pretty crappy lately. I had a major FMS flare Wednesday that had me sobbing and breaking down on both my mom and dad. I was almost hysterical due to the pain, anger and frustration I'd felt all day because I'd felt like hell and nothing was working. Definitely one of those level 10 days. Most days are level 6 with the occasional level 8. Not to mention I'd had a nasty migraine on top of it the same day. So yeah, you can see why I broke down, *sigh*.
My pain management specialist thinks I have Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome (CFIDS) as well as the Fibromyalgia. SUCKS!!!!. I see my rheumatologist, pain mgmt specialist, neurologist and pcp all in the next two weeks. It's my 3month checkup for all of them, they all kind of fall on the same dates. Makes it easy for me because their offices are near by each other so I try to get the appts the same day, two doctors at a time. Aren't I clever? *pats self on back, LOL!*
Okay, I'm going to be greedy and bat my eyelashs ever so sweetly and ask that ya'll visit the following link so I can net myself a free ipod. *whines* Everyone has one and I want one too! *end whining* lol.
http://ipods.freepay.com/?r=8120211 Hugs to you all. I've missed you and now that I'm somewhat caught up on sleep (Bennie sleeps 5 1/2 hours at a time now) i'll be able to catch up with you all.
