Fun with permits
Round 3 in getting the roof fixed:
If I tear down the library and upgrade the small driveway gate (to a 5', self closing) they will permit everything else and I am good to go.
But, the garage has a single car door and a people door. This was allowed because the library let you park 2 cars end to end. So I have to tear them out and replace them with a 2 car garage door. (yes, you have to have a door, I asked.)
But I can go ahead and get the roof done, they just wont do final inspection until everything else is done.
I told the guy that the garage door would take time, primarily because I had to pay for the roof repairs first. They seemed ok with that. *shrug*
The permits are expensive and annoying. But not having them is turning out to be worse.
On the plus side the planing office is open until 5:30, so I can stop buy after work.
I am trying to keep positive about all of this, but it is frustrating.
