I worked on the Chair project last night.
I cut the wood, making good use of my chop saw stand. I just set the guides and assembly line cut the wood. That stand was a good investment, it makes using the saw so much easier. :)
I got longer pilot hole drill bits, that helped a lot too.
I went ahead and cut pressure treated lumber for 5 additional chairs. Though after talking about carpentry with Gain I am thinking of using nicer wood and construction for the Mage and / or mortal chair(s). I don't know. *shrug* It will be a bit anyway. I am unsure how I will decorate the mage chair anyway. So for now I will focus on the others.
(I am thinking that down the road these chairs would be in the gaming room. So I may need 8 eventually anyway. *shrug*)
I got the front and back of 2 chairs assembled. So I need to do the sides and seat and they will be ready. I am confident I can do that before game. So that will give me the 2 end seats. (Which /I/ would set as Mortal and Vampire for in character reasons *wink*)
I will still need to sand, stain and decorate them, but that can wait until later.
I wish I could get more done but I don't think I will have the time before game. I over did it a bit last night as it was. I stopped about 9:30. Once I sat down and stopped moving I felt punch drunk. I guess I got a little too focused. Heh.
Mage Chair ideas:
Maybe tweak the imagery so it could double as a "Sun Throne" or a "Fading Suns" Prop (Pan Creator / Gate Symbol)?
Mmmm, decorate each chair so that any genre specific symbols can be easy switched if I want to use them for something else? Or just not uses any genre specific symbols at all. Leave everything generic and just add banners or such......
