I stopped off at Lowe's on the way home yesterday. I wanted to pick up stuff to make more throne chairs. I need to make at least one more for my bone throne. I was undecided on the other 4.
They were almost out of pressure treated 4x4's I managed to get 2 nice ones - enough for one chair. (the rest were in poor shape)
I looked at the redwood and the plain pine too. The redwood was expensive, otherwise I considered doing the "werewolf chair" in red wood.
(Hmmm, if I did ceder planks in place of 2x4s it would keep the costs low.... damm now that I have the idea I am going to have to think about it. The only problem is that the ceder planks are thin which would make screwing it together problematic....)
The plain pine is cheep, but I was worried about rot issues. Though the electric chair has held up well so far.
I am going to try the other Lowe's on the way home today and see what they have.
I need to see if they (or Michael's) have some pastel stain. To help tint the chairs appropriate colors. (one advantage to using plain pine over pressure treated.)
Vampire - red, Changeling - green, Werewolf - brown (normal stain), Mage - Paint, Mortal - plain, Promethean - black walnut (current chair stain)
*Ponders*
I would be happy with 2 plain chairs initially, for each end of the table.
