And the Torch is passed....
Justin has completed is move from the Libra Lair to his new place.
And thus "Cafe Post Mortem" is born anew....
(note: it is not about coffee)
We moved his bed and the last of his stuff on Sunday. Taking our time, no hurry.
We cleaned the floor of his old room. Vacuumed, moped and waxed.
The walls need a bit of cleaning / spackle. And I should put down so trim along the floor. (the original trim was removed when the hardwood floor was redone and never replaced.)
I accomplished my personal goal of making sure Justin had his bed set up, Hung up his guitar (wall hook) and his Elvira Movie Poster first thing. Thus firmly claiming the space as "his".
He has some awesome workshop space. (though I plan on nagging him until he gets some good shelving - it will make his life so much easier. Maybe I will take up a collection to get him some as a house warming gift.)
His brother left a tone of stuff behind. Some they want and just could not fit into this trip. But a lot of it was gifted to Justin to help him set up his new household. (Tones of cool workshop tables a few dressers, etc.) As well as a tone of random stuff that will need to be disposed of. I hope Long Beach has a special trash pick up program like Lakewood does. If not I can piggy back his stuff on one of my own big trash pickups.
He will be doing some kind of house warming BBQ in a couple of weeks. I told him not to take too long or we might just have one on our own. *wink*
It is weird to not have him in the house. It was strange getting up this morning to see the room open and empty. It has the cats freaked out too. Ghost was wandering in the room doing the Yowly call. Which is weird because he never payed any attention to Justin's room before. Could be just the obvious change in the household environment.
I will miss him as a roommate. But I am happy he got his own place. (A major goal from him for a few years now)
And now we will spend the next couple of day's moving Nomi in. :) Which will also be a very easy move. Her storage unit is literally just around the corner. So a couple of quick trips to get her bedroom stuff out of storage and we are done.
