Snippets of My Christmas Vacation

Dec 28, 2007 07:20

Here I am again, posting an entry hours before a supposed flight.

Yesterday, I updated my LJ's look and even took a screen shot:

And now for my traditional posting of what happened during some of the past several days...

Sunday, December 16th, 2007 | 7-year old John Mark wears a hat and eats a lollipop.

leftmost photo: My little brother had to wear a hat he made to the kids' church's Christmas party. He even received a prize as recognition for his hat since unlike all the other kids who were there, my brother's hat was authentically homemade. + middle and rightmost photos: John Mark then had his haircut at a barber shop called Tabbs. My dad bought him that huge, likely-to-be-cavity-inducing lollipop.

left and right photos: There goes John Mark again with his lollipop. And this time, you see his orange shirt which says, "Someone who loves me very much went to Muscat Oman and got me this shirt." Naturally, the latter was purchased at Muscat.

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 | A little boy in formal attire.

left and right photos: What I missed when I went to have breakfast with my friends Pat (pat452) and Jan (janbunag) at Alabang Country Club. John Mark had his school Christmas presentation at swanky, where-I-had-my-voice-recital-years-ago Insular Life Theater. My dad took these pictures of John Mark in a *gasp* necktie.

Thursday, December 20th, 2007 | The black cat.

Pat, Rae (ubechan), and I had just finished a photo shoot in Tropical Palace, BF and were chilling out at a nearby Mocha Blends when I saw a black cat outside and decided to take these pictures. Ha ha ha.

Monday, December 24th, 2007 | Christmas Eve: The Noche Buena

Our table during late night before Christmas day. One can say I slaved in the kitchen for all this. My mum just asked me to cook the pasta and I guess I just ended up preparing other stuff as well. My mum didn't really contribute anything to this, aside from laying out little mandarin oranges all over the table, for effect, I guess. So yeah, props to me.

And now for a little tour of the food. left photo: Queso de bola and green olives. + right photo: Purple grapes.

leftmost photo: Another picture of the grapes. + middle photo: My own little bruschetta. Except these little pieces of bread were toasted only with olive oil and basil leaves on top. There's the artichoke and spinach dip to dunk the bread in anyway. + rightmost photo: The two different types of pasta I prepared- wholemeal spaghetti and fettuccine arrabbiata.

leftmost photo: The little toasted pieces of bread, the tomato pasta sauce, and in that small bowl are tomatoes. + middle photo: The sparkling strawberry. My mum said she couldn't find anymore grape in the grocery. There was also red wine at the table that night. + rightmost photo: My mum lighting the candles.

Those lit candles on the table.

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007 | Christmas Day

We just went to the nearby mall. How exciting. My dad didn't want to go anywhere far. We had buffet at a restaurant then my dad and I went to have brewed coffee at Burger King while my mum, my aunt who was with us, and my sister went off elsewhere and John Mark was playing at the indoor playground in the vicinity. These here are captured moments of the John Mark calling our mum on our dad's cellular phone.

Alabang Town Center on Christmas night. My mum, my aunt, my sister, and I were sitting outside Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf so we had a view of the fountain and people passing by.

Then I met with Pat and after eating at Delifrance, we went to Starbucks Madrigal.

Pat's peppermint chocolate brownie. In the leftmost photo is my phone which must now be ancient in age.

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007 | Pat goes to Sheridan. To visit Rache. Ha ha ha.

I ended up sleeping over at Pat's house that Christmas night. We continued our marathon of America's Next Top Model. Then come morning, we went to Shangri-la Edsa because Pat needed to go to her appointment at the American Eye Center where she recently had her laser eye surgery. Yes, she can see now without having to use eyeglasses or contacts. =) This here is a priceless snapshot of Pat going to Sheridan to visit our dear friend Rache. Actually, the place here is just a textile store in the Shangri-la mall coincidentally by the name of Sheridan, Rachelle's art school in Canada. We miss you, Rache!
And so that wraps up my picture-narration of events over some of the past several days. In a matter of hours, I will be at the airport to hopefully check in and get on a plane to Bangkok and eventually, Muscat. Yes, I'm spending New Year's at a foreign country and I still have to get my Oman residence card. Ooh, more travelling adventures. Until my next post!
