so back in May, on our first attempt at seeing the USS Iowa towed out to sea under the Golden Gate...cpt_antilles and I decided to take advantage of the fact that we would be on the Presidio with a fair amount of time to kill and take some photos in our WWII uniforms. Finally finished updating the unit website, this one made slightly more difficult by the fact that moonfruit doesn't allow html. They do it all in beginner proof flash. Which is fine most of the time, but it would have been much cooler to insert my lovely google map into the page rather than linking to it ( Read more... ) -
How I spent the weekend....
This weekend was the Pacific Coast Dream Machines Show At Half Moon Bay Airport. I was volunteering with the B-25J "Heavenly Body", which is an amazing plane, and met some very nice people.
We got to take a ride on Saturday, it was phenomenal. I took this photo from the nose cone of the B-25, of the P-51, and Sea-fury, that were flying with us. ( Read more... ) -

Back from the howling wasteland that is Tunisia circa 1943... It was a pretty good weekend. Not too many heat casualties, which was great! Although I need to bring both ibuprofen and caffeine to the next desert event I attend, so I can knock out the migraine completely. I also need to get period prescription sunglasses.

The weather is getting colder around here. I've been drooling over this today. I like cupcakes... :) partially because they are tiny and do not require slicing....which I then feel compelled to even up bit by bit, but mostly be cause they are tasty and cute.
I have become a fan of cute food.
