Entry 9 - An Unexpected Return [VOICE]

[There is a soft click as the recording device comes on, and this time the voice is much more recognizably Sheska's, rather than the strident and confident high-pitched voice of the elementary student. She sounds thoughtful and a bit jaded, her words clear and well-pronounced, making her sound like that young, strict school teacher you had in middle school. At first her voice is soft, as though she's talking to herself, but it soon becomes more audible.]

Strange, how easily I remembered how to do that...

Well, it's pleasant to know that I remember this place so well - clearly enough to dream of it again in exact detail. It must be a dream - I've only ever been here once before, and I was much younger. Even better, I don't have to worry about how people see me, for once. I won't dream up any of the bullies and snobs from school, and I know that if I ever do come across Mom in this place, she won't be so weak and ill... she'll be healthy and strong like she used to be. Happy, as she rarely is these days.

Let's see... as I recall, I met a very nice boy named Tseng, I think it was, last time I was here. I shall have to set about focusing on imagining him coming to see me - I would like to spend more time with him. And there were others... Alex, I think? And a little girl who claimed her twin brother was someone much older than her. What was his name? Honkon? Something like that, anyway. And there was a young man named Nicolas who had been shot... I'm sure they're all fine now. I should like to get in touch with them again and see how they've turned out.

[The soft shuff of cloth shifting almost disguises the last murmured words...]

I hope they still like me...
