Best of luck (and patience, and rested eyes) getting everything to your satisfaction- you're going to look amazing. I can't wait for pictures! And good for you getting into the dancing slipper class- you mentioned that it would be highly useful. I'd stick myself silly attempting to do bullion embroidery.
I'll try and snap a few photos of it on the dressform tonight. The torso of the dressform is kind of the wrong shape for this century's silhouette, but you can at least get the general idea. Now that the skirts are assembled, there's actually something to see!
At least I only have to stress about my costumes for CC. :) I got the Pleating 101 Workshop, and Make-up & Hair for the 18th Cent, and the Garment District tour.
I was considering going to the zoo with the guild on the 21st (still tempted, in fact), but I just don't think i'm going to be able to put yet another outfit together before then. You'll just have to go and take lots of photos to share with the rest of us unfortunates who lack the time (and funds!) to go.
I'd be interested in seeing any notes you may have from the pleating workshop after Costume College.
I'm only going to the local events cuz I can't get anything made in time for anything else. So whose getting the better end of the deal here? I'd love to go out of town too and get away from this mess here. But hubby is out of town and someone has to be here from workers, repairment, and kitties. And as you can see, not much work needed to go into the safar costume, just some little grey cells. I'm finding Jody is a good person to bounce ideas off of, and she comes up with some great shortcuts. I'm not too good at that. And yeah, sure, I'll take photos, and I'll share my notes from class. I expect lots of pics from LOJ too. Jody is going in her Flamenco Flamingo costume, along with Mary Jennings (unknown as what).
