I think getting out of the country is exactly what you need to do. I'll be graduating this year, and my only real regret is not studying abroad.

It sounds like you're in a rut...so give yourself a change. Being out of the familiar patterns and environment will force you to realize who you really are as your own Ellie Island (you're your only constant..."everywhere you go, there you are").

Besides, a small Irish town sounds lovely. Are you going to Cork, by any chance? I have a friend who spent a semester there and really loved the place.

And I imagine cute Irish boys will flip for a cute American girl with a cute American accent!
