[ Anyone living in Marshall may have noticed the bizarre structure America has been building for god-knows-how long. It is complete. And it is a monstrosity. It looks like he was trying to build this, gave up a fourth of the way through, began to make this, and then stuck a reclining chair in the middle of it. It is all splashed with horrendously ( Read more... )

[Some time later Danny simply appears behind America with an annoyed expression on his face.]

And did you ever consider just finding someone who actually knows how to fix something like that? Cause let me tell you, ghosts are a lot better at breaking things than they are at fixing them.

[ we'll assume by this point that America has clothes on. did he have them on before? who knows. Also, screaming. Screaming akin to this:

dfsajkl;rhewafl;dhl;arehjwackls; bharjklewal;fhadls;htrkwalehdkajldsgfhjktewghREK;QHTWKRAHTKL; ]

DON'T YOU EVER KNOCK?!

I seriously doubt that knocking on the ceiling would do any good.

[hello here is the communist ghost prevention.]

I do not understand how I can be of help, America-san...

[ HIDING BEHIND JAPAN. ]

Use your natural gift of creepiness and spirit-handling to make sure he doesn't pull anything sneaky.

[ Looking very pointedly at Danny. as though they didn't already know who he was talking about. ]

[And Danny is rolling his eyes and generally acting like a completely mundane teenager. Apart, that is, from his glow. And the way he is hovering several inches above the floor.]

I am floating right here you know.

[America how do you hide behind Japan. But anyway, observing Danny, and then after a moment:]

You seem a bit familiar... [This is because he's spoken to normal Danny at least once before. But anyway he has a horrible memory and this is hardly important.]

America-san, it is rude to speak of others as if they are not there.

Ghosts don't count as "here", and they're the bad kind of "others"!

[ pretend this makes sense. anyway, straightening up (but shaking quite a good deal). ]

So, Phantom--if that is your real name, which I don't think so, I think you just came up with a cool nickname for yourself after you died because it was something lame like Lawrence or something--can you help at all? I don't know the rules with being dead and talking to God, but I figure that at least one of the floating creepies around here has to have been a handyman.

Frankly? The ghosts around here suck at conversation. I mean, even the animal ghosts back home had more personality. And I wouldn't trust any ghosts to repair anything anyway. They'd probably just turn your water heater into a robot suit and try to use it to take over the world. WHile shouting 'I am the hot water heater ghost! Fear me!'

...And my name is not Lawrence.

I believe even a ghost of that level may scare America-san. [box ghost would freak him out y/y]

You mean you can't get them to do anything? What good are you?! Can't you use your ghostliness to fix it or something?!

[ answer: y. he even shudders at the thought of such a ghost existing. ]

Give me a ghost causing trouble and I'll kick it out of town. Fixing water heaters? Not so much.

[glancing slowly to America]

I am not sure that asking a ghost for help with fixing such a thing has much logic to begin with.

[now to Danny] Ah... Phantom-san is it? I apologize on behalf of America-san. He is young, so please do not blame him for much.

It was perfectly logical! What else does he have to do with eternity? Be dead? For all he knows, this is his ticket into heaven.

[ glaring at Danny ] Atone for your sins on Earth; help the living.

[ suddenly brightening up a bit ] Hey, that'd be a pretty good program. "Atonement For Troubled Ghost Kids." It'd be like an after-school program, only after life.
