"So what is your stance on environmental issues?"
"Well", she said with her german accent, "we have this brochure that explains all of his thoughts on the subject if you want to learn..."
"No, i dont want to have to go through fifty pages of heavy rhetoric to find out every details of his ideas, i want a general description so i can decide if it's worth my $5." I told her.
So she told me a bit about His solutions to change our course. She told me that, for instance, He was in favor of nuclear power because it was a clean source of energy and pretty safe too. Which is partly true. I mean, accidents dont happen that often, it's just that when they do happen... Incidentally, the Chernobyl accident occured just 20 years ago, so we still have a good few thousands of years to feel the repercussions of the Soviet carelessness...
"What about renewable sources like wind and the sun?"
"Well, im from Germany and i can tell you its not enough."
Im not form Germany so what do i know? I do know however that Germany is a western country and having been there i know they consume a hell of a lot, a bit like Canada...
"How about reducing our power consumption?"
"We have to take into account the economy..."
"Well, i thought you wanted to change the world? Doesn't it start with our consuming habits? Consumption IS the economy. Isn't it about making people aware of he impact of their actions on the rest of the world?"
"Its more complicated than that you know."
I hate it when someone tells me that, it sounds like they dont really have a valid explanation or that the explanation is too long and you're just not worth their time...
"Yes, to change the world is not an easy task, but what do you propose? How do you do it?"
She reached for another brochure. We talked about the economy, globalization, the avian flu...
"See, He is also a scientist, and He has a PhD in sociology." (or was it physics?) I can't remember.
Basically this guy knows everything, he has an answer for every problem. I'm sure some of his ideas make some sense but his disciples are just... wacked. They will not let you speak- not if your ideas take to long to put forth, but they will talk endlessly. Sounds like a previous post...
"Do you disagree with some of His ideas?"
"Mmhh" What will she say?... "Yes, some but at the same time..."
"Sounds like a cult figure to me."
"No, he is good and knows what he is talking about."
It was all in the brochures, and the books too. Sounds like a cult figure.

This guy is not Jesus Christ. He is not a religious person at all in fact.
He is Larouche, savior of the world.
Beware those who claim to have the answers to all of our problems.
Beware Larouche and his fanatical followers.
They look like trouble to me.
