Haha, I just posted this to lunatunes by accident. Sorry about that. Anyways.

So Joe Biden is now Obama's running mate. I admit, I'm a little disappointed - I was really hoping Tim Kaine would've gotten the spot (I held little hope that Hillary would get it) because I know how competitive Virginia is this year. But I understand where Obama's coming from, ( Read more... )

I'm a Delaware native, born and raised in the Northern DE area (mostly Wilmington). Biden's kind of a local hero these days. He's a genuine good guy. I think it'll be beneficial to Obama to have someone like him who's skilled enough in his speeches to not have to mince words while maintaining decorum (something McCain has failed to do in the past). Biden's also got vast international affairs experience, which Obama doesn't. It's something people have been nailing Obama on for the entire campaign and I think Biden makes a well rounded choice for him.

Kaine may have been a better strategic pick for the election, but Biden will make a much better VP and brings needed expertise and experience. I think it speaks volumes about Obama on a personal level that he went with somebody who will make him a better president rather than somebody who will just get him elected.

I never had even heard about Biden's life story before, but it is quite inspiring. It goes very well with Obama's and contrasts significantly with McCain's.
