The good news: lawsuits are being filed to de-certify them or prevent their purchase around the country. New Mexico has switched entirely to paper ballots.
I thought I knew the score, but there was new information to me in this video. And it's good summary link to send to people who are unfamiliar with the issue. In particular it points out that this is not a partisan issue - it highlights how both a Democratic (New Mexico) and a Republican (Virginia) governor have spoken out against touchscreen voting.
