I'm listening to some of the Roberts Senate confirmation hearings, and it's just fucking depressing. Orrin Hatch was talking some shit about how they didn't put up a fight when Ruth Bader Ginsberg got confirmed, which I have a very hard time believing ( Read more... )

Orrin Hatch can bite me, because if I'm not mistaken, Ruth Bader Ginsberg was a Republican suggestion. Possibly his. I've been seeing these ads about how Ginsberg was confirmed 90-some to whatever, and I want to scream, because the reason that happened is that Senate Republicans were not only consulted, they were allowed to choose her themselves, pretty much.

And they're now spinning that as them being the ones putting partisanship aside, when really Clinton was the one who reached out. Only going to show that every act of bipartisan cooperation on the part of the Democrats will come back to bite them in the ass.
