Pelosi is right

Am I the only who finds the rightwing attacks on Pelosi for visiting Syria and talking to Syrian president Bashir al-Assad misguided and extremely unproductive?

Even puting aside the fact that a Republican delegation had spoken to bashir al-Assad prior to Pelosi's delegation, the fact that pelosi's delegation included three GOP congressmen, and the fact that D. Issa, a republican congressman visited Bashir since pelosi had returned, one thing should continually be brought up any time a wingnut attacks Pelosi - the bipartisan Baker-Hamilton Iraq Group had particularly insisted on talking with both Iran and Syria to reduce strees on US forces and foreign policy in Iraq. Pelosi's actions seem to be consistent with that group's findings.

As usual, wingnuts like Bill O'Reilly, and Shawn Hannity are found to be short on memory and weak on material.

What saddens is that the supposedly liberal "Washington Post" and "New York Times" had joined in this disgusting chorus. Some liberal media...

diplomacy, bashir al-assad, pelosi, syria, politics
