Little things that make me happy:
Warning: I am a fangirl.
1. Filler, at least, says that Gin still calls Aizen "Captain Aizen" and has not changed it to Aizen-sama. While a few Arrancar are using -dono instead of -sama, this is still unique, and I was kind of hoping he'd stick with it. Seemed appropriate somehow.
(Perhaps oddly, he also refers to Tousen as "Kaname", first-name-only, when talking to Aizen. To Tousen's face, it's "Tousen-san", and Tousen calls him "Ichimaru", less than friendly. We haven't seen Tousen speak alone with Aizen about Gin, but somehow I doubt he'd revert to first names. [AIZEN calls Tousen "Kaname"; Aizen is on a first-name-only basis with everyone, even Orihime, his current-hostage. I'm trying not to squee terribly about the atmosphere between Aizen and Gin, because I don't want to shut Tousen out of it entirely, the odd little tension they have -- the way that Tousen and Gin seem absolutely loyal to Aizen and obviously get along much less well with one another -- is lovely, and I'd hate for it to become too one-sided. ....but I am a fangirl.])
2. Even in filler, Aizen is still smarter than everyone. This is much better than anyone ELSE fares during filler; I'm still trying to figure out why Ichigo randomly forgot how to use his bankai for thirty episodes while every random Bount kicked his ass.
3. The charts on
kay_willow's entry. They would be even more awesome with some kind of absolute measure, so we could tell, say, how much stronger or smarter any given character was than any other. (Byakuya has a 70/100 in physical fitness/strength, and a 90 in intelligence; Gin has an 80/100 in everything. Does this mean Gin is stronger than Byakuya, and less intelligent? Maybe, maybe not; all it REALLY means is that Gin is at 80% of his own personal potential for these things, and Byakuya is at 70% and 90% respectively in those areas.)
We'll be getting the games soon enough, and then we can giggle some more about respective abilities, but I'm not fool enough to think that the Bleach games will be a good gauge of each character's relative abilities. It's a law of fighting games that all the characters in them have to be relatively equal, so, for example, that PS2 tournament game with Aizen and Tousen in it? If it were at ALL reflective of reality, Aizen would just snap his fingers when it started and you'd die; Tousen would be able to use his bankai and only Kenpachi would be crazy enough to beat him; etc. We'll have to give it a lot of leeway for the sake of not making characters that pwn'd.
4. Semi-official spellings on most of the names of the Espada. I'm worried Nnoitra is official, but even that is better than not knowing at all. (Szayel, Szayel, Szayel, if I type it enough I'll remember.)
5. ....heee, Isane is taller than Ichigo's dad. That poor, poor girl.
6. The fact that
bleach_bdsm has a rule that the masochist has to be an actual masochist; i.e., consensual and enjoyed S&M only plz. After so much crying and whimpering and other weirdness, it's kind of nice to see that SOMEONE out there hasn't confused sex games with rape and torture.
