Ah, it's lunchtime at work once again. So ... updateage!!

I'm in a pretty good mood today. Work is going well - the project I was employed to work on is very near completion so I can relax a bit - and I had a good evening last night.

After work I popped into the Forbidden Planet - it's so nice working in London sometimes!! So much opportunity to spend money. I bought a few things, including The Vision of Escaflowne volume 3, which I've had a bit of trouble over lately.

Basically I bought it from an eBay power seller with pretty good feedback. At first I didn't notice that the item listing said that the DVD could take up to 28 days to arrive, so I had a bit of a grouse at the seller over e-mail when it didn't come in a week. My bad, I know, I should have looked more carefully.

But then, despite the 28-day-get-out-clause, Escaflowne volume 3 still hadn't arrived on Monday, when the 28 days had passed. I e-mailed the seller (more politely) about it asking if it had been posted, and if so could he send me proof of postage so I could pursue it with Royal Mail. The next thing I know he's refunded my PayPal payment and sent me a message saying, basically, that he was sorry the DVD hadn't arrived and that unfortunately the title had been deleted from their stock, so he was refunding my payment.

WTF?!

What does that even mean? That he did post it and was arranging to pursue compensation by himself? Or that he was stupid enough to list an item that was no longer stocked? Or that despite my bid, payment and e-mails, he sold all his copies of the DVD to other people?

So that was all a bit random. But it's had a good outcome, because I paid about the same amount online as I would have done in a shop (I just thought it would be quicker ordering it online, silly me!) so I was able to get it in the Forbidden Planet and not lose any money. So that's that. At least I don't have that to worry about anymore.

While I was in the Forbidden Planet I also bought volume 14 of Fruits Basket which had just come out, and read that last night. It's so good! I love Furuba. I'm such a girly girl sometimes. ^_^ It was a really good volume as well, so now I feel all pleased and satisfied. Unfortunately I have to wait until December for volume 15. T_T

Escaflowne Volume 3 was worth the wait as well. It was great! And since I bought volumes 4 and 5 at the same time as ordering #3 (which added to the frustration of the volume 3 fiasco, as I couldn't watch them when they arrived), I'm going to have a nice evening in by myself tomorrow night when margaretdumont goes to her Pirate Shindig and watch anime, and probably drink a couple of glasses of wine as well.

Gosh I sound really sad. Drinking wine and watching anime by myself - I need to meet more people who are into all this! (I console myself with the fact that I know a couple up in Lancaster. We're going to have so much to watch when the next term starts!!)

Wow. For lunchtime updates, that was quite a long one.
