Too many words.
I'm pretty sure now that I'm going to substantially over-run my 100,000 word limit for my thesis.
I totted up the word count of all my chapters and sub-chapters today and the total came to just over 85,000. I haven't even written 1/2 of the pottery reports for my sites yet and I haven't started writing the typologies and their discussions for 2 of my regions, and only 1/2 done for the other 3rd region. I also have at least 3 more small sub-chapters or c. 3,000 each that I want to include.
I'm probably going to over-run by 20,000. Perhaps editing and appendices will help solve this. You can get penalized for too much over-run.
And I guess with my supervisor being quite a strict reviewer, I'm better off starting out with too much than too little.
I was actually worried that I had'nt enough...........funny how it adds up when you aren't looking!
