Tired, but I'm still breathing. And I know partly why I'm so exhausted anymore (aside from the whole work thing).
I have hypthyroidism (low function of the thyroid). It's part of the reason for my exhaustion, possibly for any weight gains between 2002 and now (July '02 was when I last had a cholesterol scan). I guess if I'm gonna do things, I better do them right, yeah? Yeah.
Anyway, I'm on a thyroid supplement now and will probably be on it for the rest of my life. Not everyone is on this medication for life (my stepdad said last night my aunt Laurie was only on such medication for two years before her thyroid kicked back in and started working) but . . . this is medication. I'd rather not look at this as short-term then find out later it's going to be long-term. I hate taking medication but, with this, I want to look at it as realistically as possible. I could very well end up taking this thyroid supplement for the rest of my life (however long that may be).
This is not the worst news I could have received on Thursday. Far from it, really. Blood was drawn for the cholesterol scan and for the diabetus test. Results won't be back in until this upcoming week. I'm hoping it'll all be good. ^_^
In other news, the writing is going slow. Very slow. I'm not feeling like myself and I don't know why. Could be my manic-depression kicking in, could be the thyroid problem (I'll know if it's my thryoid within the next few weeks -- my little pamphlet said 4-6 weeks before it'll fully be effective and even then the dosage might need to be tweaked), could be just about anything as to why I don't feel like myself. I'm still going to try, though, to keep writing, to get this first novel completely finished. Aaand to work on that query letter. :P
Time to get some more work done (somehow). ^_^ After all, novels don't write themselves.
Oh, I wanna hear from my f-list. How many of you have seen The Lady in the Water?
