Since I'm on a slight David Eddings kick . . . Here is the first book of the Tamuli series, Domes of Fire.
Danger stalked Queen Ehlana's realm. When an ambasador from the far-off Tamul Empire begged for help, Sparhawk, Ehlana's champion and Prince Consort, was the Emperor's last hope. For surely the knight who had killed the evil God Azash could prevail against the terror in Tamul. But waiting for him was a glittering court seething with corruption, treachery--and the greatest danger Sparhawk would ever face!
That my friends -points to the above description- is probably what you'll find on the back of this particular book. Intriguing, huh? I thought so and I bought this book with great anticipation. I knew the characters from the Elenium series (please see the last three entries for my reviews on those) so I kind of knew what to expect. I was not disappointed.
And there is one thing I must say about David Eddings. In looking back on the Elenium and Tamuli series, none of them have read like they were written by someone else. His style is his own and no one can mimick it. More on why I say that in another book review.
So go! Buy books! Buy these books! They make great gifts! ^_^
