Now for the final book in the Elenium series, The Sapphire Rose.

Official Description: Finally the knight Sparhawk had come to possess Bhellion, the legendary jewel of magic. With it, he frees Queen Ehalana from the crystalline cocoon that preserves her life, but Bhellion carries dangers of its own. And now Sparkhawk is being stalked by a dark lurking menace that is only the beginning of his troubles....
The Jade Warrior's Review: Like with any book in a series, there is a bittersweetness with a series ending. Innocence lost, innocence gained. Let's face it. Humans are not like Hobbits (reference to the Lord of the Rings here). We lose someone close to us or go on a trip where things happen, our perspectives become altered, if only a little. I like it when a book or any kind of story, can bring out some kind of emotion in me, whether it's happiness, sadness, anger, you name it. When a story makes you feel something, anything, then the author has done a good job. Eddings is no exception.

So yes. I loved this book. ^_^ Couldn't you tell? LOL

Yeah. I was a little too nice for my own good. ;)

"You sound bitter," Shuichi commented. He brought his knees up towards his chest and wrapped his arms around his legs. The vocalist still sat between his legs, but Shuichi had turned his body completely around. Amethyst eyes continued to gaze at him.

Eiri considered, for a moment, Shuichi's words. Was he bitter about their break-up? There were times he thought he harboured some resentment towards the younger man, but such feelings had been fleeting at best. There one moment, gone the next.

And having held Shuichi had not sent electric tingles coursing through his blood. It still felt right, having the vocalist in his arms, but only in the sense of giving comfort to a really good friend. Eiri could honestly say that was what he and Shuichi were. He shook his head in the negative.

"No. I'm not bitter."

"I didn't say you were," Shuichi began.

"I know."

They both paused, falling silent. It was silly, commenting on things like sounding bitter then arguing about the fact, but Eiri was willing to accept some meaningless conversation every now and then. Then Shuichi smiled.

"So . . . how've you been doing, Eiri?"

All I can tell you about James is he's really tall (over six foot), he's an African-American, and he has a very muscular build. His hair reaches his shoulders, and done up in dreadlocks with a full beard and moustache. James is also a very kind guy, won't ever hit a woman (even if she's beating on him), and he's very interested in geology and volcanoes.

Family: His dad walked out after he was born. He's the youngest of six, having five older sisters.

And that is James. ^_^

Oh, yes. Torie and Val like to sing "James" by the Bangles whenever he's around, and Torie affectionately calls him "The Truck." (James = Jimmy, Jimmy = truck by GMC, Truck)

He couldn't see what other people saw in someone like Sakuma Ryuichi. He really could not.

Sakuma Ryuichi was a child in a man's body. There was no getting around it. The man carried a pink rabbit with him everywhere and talked to it, for fuck's sake! The only redeeming quality Sakuma had, in Eiri's mind, was his ability to sing. That was it.

Yet, there was something else about the singer that drew Eiri to the older man. Some hidden quality called out to the novelist, and it scared the hell out of him.
