I named my xbox Joffrey
So I've been thinking about getting an xbox. On Tuesday, I found out about a used xbox promotion at GameStop (system, one year warranty, two used games under $20), so I was like okay, I'm going to hit the GameStop after work today. Except I really needed to use the bathroom by the time my dad picked me up from the metro stop, so I just went home. Because priorities.
On Wednesday, I was like okay, gonna go to GameStop today. I hopped in the car, and I was like okay dad, let's go to the motherfucking GameStop. And he's like UM... and looks at what he's wearing, and I realize he's in his pajamas. So I'm like OKAY MAYBE NOT. And my dad says we could, it's not like they'd kick him out, but I didn't go to the GameStop.
But yesterday I made it to the mall after work, and I hit the EBGames upstairs (which is smaller than the GameStop downstairs--it's a testament to the mall's good business that both stayed open after EBGames melted down) aaaand, well, they didn't have Mass Effect 1, and Mass Effect is kinda the reason I wanted an Xbox. I was like no big deal, ME1 is like $10, I can pick it up anywhere, I'll just get some other games for now. The slight problem's that there really aren't that many good games under $20. I ended up grabbing ME2 (which took like ten minutes to find, but I managed it--if you've seen me at a GameStop, I am basically the best used game diver ever) and Lost Odyssey, and I figured I'd just buy Vesperia as well, separate from the promotion.
Except turns out they don't have any used xboxes in the store. Oops. So I go downstairs, but not before the guys at the desk confirmed that the store at the other end of the mall had used xboxes in stock.
So downstairs, there's a huge crowd and one poor soul trying to manage it all, so I just chill for like ten minutes jamming buttons on the demo 3DS until they cleared out--
I'm just going to stop now. Suffice to say that it took forever to get my xbox and hook it up, and I'm still not sure it's 100% working or if two of my TVs are broken, but hey, one specific configuration makes the xbox playable, so yay.

This post was supposed to be just my rambling dumbass shenanigans buying videogames, but I just found out about the Denver shooting so all my dumb BS is under a cut now.
Sweet jesus, I don't even have any words. It's horrible.
Apparently the youngest patient being treated for bullet wounds is six-years-old. Six-years-old. (Update: and now I've been told that some crazy mofo brought a three-month-old baby into the theater, and it was treated, but it was okay. First of all, oh god they had to treat a baby. Second of all, who the hell brings an infant to a midnight screening???)
It's horrible. My heart goes out to the victims and their family and friends.
