UPDATE WK 3

Jan 18, 2009 20:36

Week three update;  Some sucess, some backsliding.

12. Get eight hours of sleep:
a. Up at 6 am, requires a ten pm bedtime (lights out at ten requires a 9pm in bed time) I've been doing pretty good here. I'm not getting to bed at 9, but I am going to bed earlier and it helps.
I've backslide some this week, and I really need my sleep.  I'm up at 6 am to prepare breakfasts for guests.  Did I mention I run a B & B?

13. Be more patient with mother (she’s so critical, ignores her health but complains all the time-drives me crazy)
She's been in the hospital this week, maybe that will motivate herself to take better care of herself. Course this is the case of the pot calling the kettle black.  I haven't done too badly this week, although I just snapped at her when she asked for kitchen help.  She's like an infant when mommy gets on the phone=demands attention.  She always askes me for something when I get on the computer, so frustrating!

23. Keep with the laundry and ironing
Another failure here.  I have to wash and iron all the sheets for the guests rooms.  I'm very behind here and it doesn't look I'll catch up next week either.

33. Take recyclables to the center
a. go every Monday (we don’t have curb pick-up here) Went today, not a Monday, but the first day i could go.  (1-14-09)

I took a lot to the center this week, but then got fed up and threw a lot of papers away that I could have recycled.

RELATIONSHIPS
34. Have friends over once a mth (need to get space to do that first) I'm having a dinner party here Tues night.
a Finish Carriage House and patio first
b. Have smaller gatherings till then
35. Make a larger circle of friends  I invited someone new to come.  It turns out we are gggcousins.  Came to this town from two separate coasts and find our ggggrandparents were siblings.  She's also running the John Adams course I'm taking.

36. Keep in touch with old friends
37. Get a divorce (I haven’t seen him in 12 years-what am I waiting for?)
38. Stay in better contact with my cousins (Sandy is coming over next week)

FUN
39. Read one fun book a week (Started "Chesapeke" by James Michner)
40. Take a class and learn something new
a. Register for John Adams class at local museum. (Went to first class tonight 1-14-08 and will be going for the next 7 weeks.  They show an episode from the HBO series and we read the book at home.  I didn't put the book down in my pleasure reading book because its for a class)  Still reading the book.  Its good.
