"Hold me closer tiny dancer..."
So it is apparently possible for college students to get up at 445 am and function alll damn day! Longest day of dance ever began that early for the Brown Ballroom Comp which began around 730ish in the morning! Tofer and I danced Bronze rhumba, cha-cha and swing-i wore my sparkly short skirt-our weakest is rhumba, strongest swing and what do we get called back for-rhumba and cha-cha! every time we got called back i was like, are you kidding?! it was pretty hot-i finally got the crazy energy adreneline rush james and boris have been telling me about-i dont know if should have one at 8am, but hey :-P Our newbies did really well too! everyone got atleast one call back in something which was pretty hot! The first fun dance was hustle which we totally rocked! i was soo dizzy! boris and i got a call back and had to do our very very limited pasadoble (which we learned 3 steps for the night before...it was funny to say the least! i couldnt stop laughing!)
pizzria uno rocked for lunch! lots of food sharing and singing and everything-it was really nice to feel part of a group and community-people are starting to warm up, i think, which is awsome....after lunch was another fun dance-boris and i rocked our limited salsa skills :-P
and then it was time for smooth-i got really nervous before it which was crappy, but i lived...we did waltz, foxtrot and tango and we thought our waltz was the best of the 3-the other ones we both made "big" mistakes....butt we somehow got called back for fox and tango!
i was like are you kidding!!ah! i really need to stop yeah, holy shit, or fuck! every time that happens-lol! our fox was pretty good and our tango eh...we tried damnit...and then we got called back for fox again!! i waslike ahhh! it was crazy! by then every time i tried to smile my muscles kept twitching-lol
we were in the top 13 out of 39 couples! for my second comp and competing against people who have been dancing a year, i dont think thats too shabby
i love dancing with tof cause we just laugh and have fun and what happens happens....everyone else rocked the comp too!keeley and chris got 4th in both fox and tango and jeremiah and kelly got 7th in tango!
we have never made it to finals before, so it was really exciting
cheering everyone on was pretty fun.
it was such a long day though! my feet held up pretty well which is awsome, but my body is tired...have to rest up for dance tomorrow night! gahhh! lol
