Winter Olympics 2010 - Athletes Village
I never planned to be at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Although I am in Whistler for the duration of the games, I have been visiting Vancouver more or less on a weekly basis. Vancouver has no competition; It is the beauty queen of Canada. Soaring mountains and the deep blue and cold northwest pacific ocean - all in one view.
I like the cold clean air of Whistler. It is rejuvenating. Moreover, waking up to a vista full of steeply rising mountains and ground hugging mist is one of the most beautiful sights my eyes have experienced. The nine week contract to work here in British Columbia provides a great scenery change from Ontario. Here is "must" to do activities:
1. Learn how to ski (Whistler)
2. Snowmobile Driving on Blackcomb mountain (Whistler)
3. A day visit to Granville Island and take trip to see the Orcas (Vancouver)
4. A day visit to Vancouver Island (Van Island)
5. Visit China town (Vancouver-completed)
6. Hike up to lake Garibaldi Lake
7. Cross Country Skiing (Whisler)
8. See the Bald Eagles (Squamish)
