Everything is Avengers and A lot of it hurts!

May 05, 2012 22:41

I finally got to see Avengers today, and I have so many feelings I'm super excited about the fandom now. I've been skirting around it while I try to finish out all of my Inception desires. But I think I might actually do art for the A-RBB. I think I can ship anyone/anyone in this movie. It's like one giant 2 1/2 hour fandom orgasm.

Anyway, spoiler feelings under the cut )

spoilers, avengers, feelings, gross sobbing, flail

You have replicated all my feels about this! Oh god. Such a great film.

I must say though, I thought the mewling quim line worked. Loki is very good at playing a sympathetic or aloof character, and I thought that line was one of the few places where his deep fury and childish sociopathy was properly revealed. He underestimated Natasha because of his prejudice - his furious bone deep prejudice - and because of that Natasha was able to play him like she was playing her captors when we first see her. And I think the line was meant to show his prejudice rather tahn being an attitude the film held about women. That said though, I suspect that the line only made it into the final film because it was archaic.

Oh yes! I did love the line. It indeed showed how narrow Loki's focus was, because all of us can see just how not mewling and not a quim that Black Widow is. I was just shocked to hear it in the movie. Which, I guess, worked really well for the moment. I do agree with everything you said. And I don't think it's necessarily his attitude only to women too. I think that is his attitude towards everyone. He was just striking towards a woman and phrased thusly.

I really, really liked Mark as Bruce. I didn't think I would but I did :)

I really liked Scar Jo too surprisingly. Im not a huge fan of hers but I did like her in Avengers.

So sad about Coulson.

"Clench up, Legolas" was the best line, no joke. XD

I was too unfamiliar with Ruffalo to know if I would like him or not, but I was very pleased!
