Sweet Malarkey, Y'all have been busy these past few days. I think I'm about 1/4 through my friends list, but had to take a break to list a few things in numeric, orderly fashion, a la
chicklet_girl:
1. Speaking of The Chicklet, she may very likely be gainfully employed soon! Woo-hoo! Congratulations, Sassypants!
2. I am indeed running a half-marathon on Saturday, as
chicklet_girl pointed out. I'm in between those pre-race stages of whiny and excited. I need to make a shirt too - any suggestions? (It just has to have my name somewhere so people lined along the route can cheer for me and make me feel special).
3. Wilco fucking ruled on Friday night. No Josh Hartnett sighting though. Surprising, cause the concert was virtually in his backyard. The rest of the weekend was pretty amazing too. We went down to the lake and I swear, I've never seen a better weekend, weather and water-wise. Worked on the tan, hung out with the family and waterskiied for the first time since September. I'm still sore. And I'm running a marathon in a few days. Maybe not the best decision I've made.
4. An Open Letter to The Divine Ms.
nerodi:
Dear Nerodi,
Would you please consider pushing back the due date on the Historical Fiction Challenge to later in the summer? Labor Day, perhaps? The thing is, Ms. Divine One, I feel a lot more writers would be able to write something lovely for you if the pressure of the July 4 due date were lifted. And
chicklet_girl told me about a fucking kick ass story idea last night that she absolutely MUST write, come hell or highwater. And with her getting a job and shit, she's not going to have time to get it in under the July 4 wire. Seriously - it's so fucking cool. It makes me tingle all over. And it's just in *idea* form. And, like, maybe I'll get off my ass and finish mine too. What do you think?
Kisses,
Jordan
5. I started my first class on the way to my Masters program yesterday. I think it's going to be pretty easy - the rest of the students were mainly first and second-years (with horrible taste in movies, I might add. We did one of those "getting to know you" intro things). I predict I will absolutely love the M-W-F afternoons off from work schedule.
