The whole SNAFU with the LCWR. As a young woman discerning her Vocation to serve the Church, this whole thing has been bitterly painful. I feel like both the Vatican and the LCWR leadership could have handled it much better, and all the Catholic media reports just skewed things according to their preconceived progressive vs. traditionalist biases and further divided the American Church. Then there's the secular media muddying the waters even more... and I'm just trying to figure all out where God wants me and everyone knows I'm discerning consecrated life so every time the LCWR is mentioned on NPR or the evening news I'm expected to give a dissertation on whether I'm "pro-nun" or "pro-bishop" (?!?!?! how is that even a thing now?!?!) and why I picked that "side" and "how can you stay Catholic when they treat women like this after all the good that they've done?" Ugh. I'm sick of it.
